Introduction
This privacy policy outlines the way in which Food Agility CRC manages and safeguards personal information. It applies to Food Agility CRC and any related bodies corporate.
1. Policy
Food Agility CRC is committed to complying with the National Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) (the Privacy Act). By visiting our website, using any of our services or online platforms, or otherwise providing us with your personal information (or authorising it to be provided to us by someone else) you agree to your personal information being handled as set out in this Policy.
2. Types of personal information collected
The personal information which Food Agility CRC collects and holds will depend on the nature of your interaction with us but generally includes:
- Your name
- Contact details (such as your phone number, address and email address) and general information about your business operations.
- It may also include credit card details if you are attending a paid event.
- It may include dietary requirements if you are attending a catered event.
- Information from your resume(such as qualifications, educational and employment history) if we require these details for an event or for responding to a job application. We will ordinarily identify at the time of collecting your personal information which elements we require to facilitate your interaction with Food Agility CRC.
You may be able to deal with Food Agility CRC without identifying yourself (i.e. anonymously or by using a pseudonym) in certain circumstances, such as when you make a general enquiry about Food Agility CRC or its programs. If you wish to do so, please contact us to find out if this is practicable in your circumstances.
3. Method of collection of personal information
Food Agility CRC will usually collect personal information directly from you when you communicate with us, for example:

Food Agility CRC also automatically collects certain information when you visit Food Agility CRC’s website. Such information includes your browser type, server address, operating system type, your IP address, how and when you use the Food Agility CRC website and previous websites visited.
Food Agility CRC uses this information on anonymous basis and does not use it to personally identify you unless required to do so by law.
You do not have to provide your personal information to Food Agility CRC but, if you do not provide the information requested, Food Agility CRC may not be able to provide you with its products and services.

The purposes for which Food Agility CRC collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information may include the following:
- to carry out Food Agility CRC’s business purposes (which are detailed generally on Food Agility CRC’s website www.foodagility.com),
- conducting our business, which includes providing our products and services to you, • to respond to your enquiries, including requests for information,

- to fulfil its legal obligations, other related purposes or as permitted or required by law, • for our internal administrative, research, planning, marketing and product/service development purposes.
Where Food Agility CRC documents request personal information, Food Agility CRC will state the general purposes for its use and to whom it may be disclosed, and the main consequences, if any, if the information is not provided. Food Agility CRC’s general purposes may include:
- Providing products and services that you have requested and responding to your enquiries; • Administering Food Agility CRC’s programs and dealing with stakeholders.
- Conducting specific projects in which you have chosen to participate.
- Administering competitions.
- Administering events.
- Including your details in publicly available databases on the Food Agility CRC website.
- Sending marketing material that Food Agility CRC considers will be useful (if you have consented to receiving this).
If Food Agility CRC is notified that a person does not wish to receive such information, it will not send it to that person.
This does not apply to information that we are legally required to send or where we are otherwise complying with legal requirements.

c) Specialist advisers to Food Agility CRC who have been engaged to provide Food Agility CRC with legal, administrative, financial, insurance, research, marketing or other services; and
d) Any other person authorised, implicitly or expressly, when the personal information is provided to or collected by Food Agility CRC.
e) Food Agility CRC may also publish its disclosure practices in relation to specific products or services that it provides.
6. Security of personal information
Food Agility CRC takes reasonable steps to protect personal information it holds from misuse, loss and interference and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We collect and store personal information in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and paper-based files and records held in secure premises. Passwords and different levels of administrative functionality is used to protect your personal information from access by unauthorised personnel.
Food Agility CRC will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information it holds if it is no longer needed for Food Agility CRC’s business purposes and it is permissible by law to do so.
While we take reasonable precautions to secure your personal information, data protection measures are never completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. Our website is linked to the internet, which is inherently insecure, so we cannot provide any assurance regarding the security of transmission of information you send us online. If you do not wish to transmit information through our website, there are other ways in which you can provide us with your information, such as by mail or telephone.
7. Sensitive information
Food Agility CRC does not generally collect any sensitive information as that term is used in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (including information relating to racial or ethnic origin, membership of political bodies, religion or trade unions, sexual preferences or activities, criminal record, state of health or medical history).
Food Agility CRC will only collect sensitive information where required by law or with consent. If Food Agility CRC holds any sensitive personal information, that information will only be used and disclosed by Food Agility CRC for the purpose for which it was provided.
If Food Agility CRC asks for sensitive information, Food Agility CRC will explain the reason for this.
8. Access to personal information
A person may request access to personal information that Food Agility CRC holds about them, and request copies of that information, by contacting Food Agility CRC using the contact details below.
Food Agility CRC will process such requests within a reasonable time and may charge a fee for providing access to cover the costs of verifying the application and retrieving the information requested. If Food Agility CRC denies an access request, it will provide reasons for doing so.
9. Correction of personal information
Food Agility CRC will take reasonable steps to ensure the personal information it holds is accurate, complete and up to date. If you believe personal information that we hold about you is not up to date or accurate, you may ask us to correct it.

10. How to make a complaint

Your complaint should be in writing (letter or email). You will need to provide enough details regarding your complaint as well as any supporting evidence and information.
Food Agility CRC will refer your complaint to its Privacy Officer who will investigate the issue and determine the steps that Food Agility CRC will undertake to resolve your complaint. Food Agility CRC will contact you if it requires any further information from you and will notify you in writing of the outcome of the investigation. 11. Changes to this policy
Food Agility CRC may amend this policy from time to time, and the amended policy will be published on Food Agility CRC’s website. Please review Food Agility CRC’s website periodically for changes to this
policy. Your continued use of Food Agility CRC’s website or services or provision of further personal information to Food Agility CRC once this policy has been amended constitutes your acceptance of the amended policy.
