Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) is a not-for-profit enterprise that conducts research, development and marketing along the worldwide supply chain for Australian wool on behalf of about 60,000 woolgrowers that help fund the company.

Our mission is to make strategically targeted investments to enhance the profitability, international competitiveness and sustainability of the Australian wool industry. Funded by Australian woolgrowers, we are focused on delivering results for wool levy payers in line with the priorities identified through industry consultation and reflected in the company’s Strategic Plan. Working along the supply chain of Australian wool, we nurture talent, innovate through research, and actively invest in pushing the boundaries of what wool means to the world.

We are a university of the land and people of our regions. True to the character of regional Australia we have gumption, we have soul and we collaborate with others. We develop holistic, far-sighted people who help their communities grow and flourish. The Wiradjuri phrase yindyamarra winhanganha means the wisdom of respectfully knowing how to live well in a world worth living in. This phrase represents who we are at Charles Sturt University – our ethos. It comes from traditional Indigenous Australian knowledge, but it also speaks to the mission of universities – to develop and spread wisdom to make the world a better place. Harnessing technology, we thrive as a distributed yet connected community, welcoming and engaging with people across Australia and the world.

CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, Australian Government) work with industry, government and the research community to turn science into solutions to address Australia’s greatest challenges, including food security and quality; sustainable energy and resources; health and wellbeing; resilient and valuable environments; future industries; and a secure Australia and region.

Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) takes a leading role in planning and investment in fisheries research and development (R&D) to support the ongoing sustainability of our aquatic sectors and aquatic ecosystems.

We are a co-funded partnership between the Australian Government and fisheries and aquaculture. We plan, invest in and manage R&D for fishing and aquaculture and the wider community, and we encourage adoption of the resulting knowledge and innovation for impact. We coordinate government and industry investment and work with stakeholders to establish and address their R&D priorities.

MLA’s purpose is to foster the long-term prosperity of the Australian red meat and livestock industry by investing in research and marketing activities. Through our subsidiary companies, we also accelerate innovation across the value chain and deliver the industry’s integrity and on-farm quality assurance programs.
